Swiss put the holes in cheese and Matrix

In 1993 there was a change in visual appearance at trade fairs. The individual appearance, without visible profiles and frames, was desired. In spite of the economic arguments, system construction is set to fall into the background.

My interest was to find new building systems and visited the most important trade fair "Euroshop in Düsseldorf". The whole world met and showed what product presentation, temporary buildings and shop design had to do with the latest technology.

The halogen light replaced the light bulb. A new, convincing building system was not in sight - an interesting material carrier (steel profile with hole) I discovered with a Belgian light supplier. At my request, I got the answer: we are selling only lighting fixtures.

In the back of my head, I had the idea of what to do with it. I insisted, visited the factory in Belgium and bought steel specimens. The product development started - the steel was replaced by aluminum - I paid development costs and wanted to know if you could also bend aluminum profiles? The implementation became a success - I became the most important customer in all of Europe. The pleasant partnership was more important to me than the copyright. The Matrix Architectur system took its course and convinced the users. In 1997 I was deprived of exclusive distribution rights. So I felt compelled to take the production by myself. Matrix made in Switzerland. It came to the trade dispute in Zurich and the judge said that holes in the profile already belonged to the industry standard.

This was followed by the foundation of Matrix-Systems GmbH and the "Brand" was protected worldwide. There was nothing to prevent it. The holes no longer determine the design. The short set-up times are blocked. For us, Swiss Post is a reference customer, who comprehensively presents its brand - with a system.
